Stó:lô Nation, one of the leading employers in the Fraser Valley with over 300 employees and officesl ocated in Mission, Chilliwack and Agassiz requires the services of a Lands Officer Trainees to work in the Lands Department. To meet funding criteria, the position is for qualified aboriginal applicants. Please self-identify on your cover letter or resume.
The successful candidate will work under the Regional Lands Administration Program (RLAP) and will obtain land management skills both in theory and hands on in order to be a qualified Lands Officer under the RLAP. This position will work from the Central (Chilliwack) Region.
Job Requirements :
· Grade 12 or equivalent.
· Post Secondary in GIS, Geography or Business Administration would be an asset.
· Must be willing to commit to a 12 month training program.
· Computer skills with MS Office; Internet and Windows are required.
· Must maintain a valid BC Drivers’ License, Class 5.
· Must identify as being First Nations, as per funding requirements.
· Successful candidates will be required to provide the following if screened for an interview:
· Proof of education documentation.
· References: Three names and phone numbers of recent supervisors.
· A valid BC Drivers’ License.
· Must successfully pass the required pre-employment RCMP Criminal records Check.
Salary : $ 12.00-15.00 Per Hour
