Post-doctoral Fellow, Coastal Development Centre (St John’s, NL & Bangkok, Thailand)


Coastal Development Centre, Bangkok, Thailand (http://cdc.fish.ku.ac.th) invites applications for a research position at post-doctoral level or equivalent, to work on the ‘Coastal Transects Project’ which is part of the EU-funded research on ‘Integrating Multiple Demand in Coastal Zones’ (www.incofish.org). The candidate’s main responsibility will include the development of an analytical framework to capture interactions and flows between natural and human systems in coastal areas. He/she will also contribute to the development of a web-based tool for decision-making and coastal governance, and will be given opportunities for international travels for conference and research. The candidate may have background in natural, social or interdisciplinary sciences related to aquatic resources and ecosystems, with analytical and modeling skills. Web-base programming and GIS knowledge is an asset, but not required. The initial appointment is for one year (renewable for additional 1-2 years), starting immediately.

The position will be based mainly at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, as well as at the Coastal Development Centre in Bangkok.
