GIS Analyst 2

Our Engineering Department is currently seeking a GIS Analyst 2, to help us provide innovative and creative solutions to manage the City’s tremendous growth. In this challenging role, you will perform complex professional work, providing technical leadership on projects from preparation through execution, from preliminary investigation to maintenance and review of GIS applications. Using your broad understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements, you will formulate and define the scope and objectives for the systems through research and fact-finding. You will develop or modify information systems requirements as they relate to GIS as well as define large-scale GIS application design and architecture activities. Finally, you will use your advanced knowledge of ESRI, ArcGIS, and ArcSDE to perform complex analysis and administration, as well as other related departmental duties as required.

In addition to a degree in a directly related field, you have three years related GIS experience using spatial applications, including at least one year at the GIS Analyst 1 level. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may also be considered. You have demonstrated advanced skills and knowledge in a full range of specialized programming tools and languages, including but not limited to scripts, menus and routines of varying complexity. Your proven expertise identifying software and hardware issues is combined with extensive experience using ArcGIS, ArcSDE, and Geodatabases. Working knowledge of ArcIMS, database design, data modeling and underlying technology.
