Opportunity:

Ministry of Environment – Join the team at the Information Management Branch, GIS Services Unit, and contribute your skills to the provision and support of the operational infrastructure for Geographical Information Systems (GIS). GIS services include the hosting of web mapping applications, the GIS terminal server (GTS) environment and the Corporate GIS toolkits.

In your ten month temporary assignment as GIS Application Specialist, people will look to you for expertise with the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of ArcGIS software components. You will also be responsible for data (storage) management and for investigating products that will accommodate clients’ future and expanding needs.

As our ideal candidate, you have:
– A degree in computer science or related discipline and two years of related experience; or a diploma in computer science or related discipline and three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
– Demonstrated experience and expert knowledge in the use of ESRI ArGIS Software
– Demonstrated experience and expertise in the resolution of problems related to ArcGIS
