Ministry of Agriculture and Lands – The Integrated Land Management Bureau is the primary provincial agency responsible for coordinating and accepting applications for access to Crown natural resources and delivering natural resource authorization adjudication services on behalf of mandated ministries. It also develops implements and revises land-use plans and manages and delivers natural resource information.
The Corporate Information Services (CIS) section of the Corporate Resource Information Management Division (CRIM) has primary responsibility for identifying client needs and for ensuring that their needs are met through the effective delivery of integrated, science¿based land, resource and decision support services.
In you capacity as Land Information Coordinator, you will support provincial priority planning, treaties and other land development and planning initiatives. You will work with a broad range of contacts, from directors to technical experts and contract staff from a variety of project teams. Your critical role on these teams will be to provide the technical expertise on spatial and non-spatial analysis approaches. Projects include environmental reporting and monitoring, socio-economic analyses, land use planning, treaty negotiations and timber supply analyses. You may represent the client, including the Province, at treaty negotiations, planning tables, expert working groups, and/or public forums.
Charged with researching and identifying project goals, you will also be responsible for researching, collecting, and evaluating data from disparate and esoteric sources to complete the analysis.
You will provide professional advice in resolving land and resource issues through the applied use of information and technologies, delivering analytical products to support strategic land use decisions. These decisions could have major impact on the provincial resources, economy, communities, First Nations and the Government.
You possess a Bachelors’ degree in a relevant resource management field such as Geography, Biology, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or other relevant subject plus considerable (4 years) current experience; or, Diploma in a related field and extensive current, progressive experience ( 6+ years).
