Hello Everyone! Who are all of you?

Wow, this is really exciting! The new website’s been live for only a few days and it’s great to see all the members logging in. It makes me curious who you are and what brings you here… introductions?

I’ll start: My name is Eliana and I work with Ecotrust Canada in Vancouver (although on the usermap you’ll see me in Tahiti, where I lived for a year). I first started at EC as a co-op student, at which time I had the opportunity to work with the Haida Mapping Office. After I finished my BSc in Geography at the University of Victoria, I came back to Ecotrust as a Cartographer/GIS Tech. You’ll probably see my name spattered among the pages, as I worked on transferring the information from the old website. Now I’m really excited to see the new website up and running, and I can’t wait to hear what you have to say – not only about the new website, but also about mapping and aboriginal issues. There’s lots of fancy new features to take advantage of: contacting other users, the usermap, this discussion forum, a place to upload your images, event listings, jobs… I hope you have fun exploring it all!

So… you? What brings you here? And what’s going on in your neck of the woods?

P.S. Please let me know if you have any questions or problems with the website. I think we’ve worked all the kinks out, but you never know. My email address is elianam@ecotrustcan.org.
