For more than a decade, the Innu Nation and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador have been in negotiations concerning the vast pristine boreal forests of Nitassinan. In January 2001, a Forest Process Agreement was reached between the Innu Nation and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
