Indigenous Studies – Sharing the Cultural and Theoretical Space

The aim of the conference is to encourage and provide for discussion of intercultural approaches to research and related matters. The AIATSIS Council has adopted the theme Indigenous Studies – Sharing the cultural and theoretical space, and has suggested several approaches to a ‘shared’ Australia through the discipline of Indigenous Studies. Potential sub-themes

1. Indigenous Studies: A shared space?

2. Culture and Communication

3. Research / epistemological negotiations

4. Regional / global representations

5. Indigenous Studies in Cyber-space

6. Renegotiating legal and political spaces

7. Performative spaces

Call for Submissions We propose to develop conference sessions around these sub-themes, and we invite submissions for Sessions within the major theme and addressing one or more of the sub-themes.
