CoastGIS is a biennial series of symposia that brings together practitioners and researchers in the field of marine and coastal Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing and computer cartography.

Conference theme: Monitoring and Adapting to Change on the Coast
We encourage submissions looking at the use of GIS and geospatial technologies more generally in the contract of coastal and marine environments, with a specific (but not exclusive) focus on:
•    Coastal and marine processes
•    Communities and socio-economics
•    Decision-support and policy
•    Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI)
•    Marine Spatial Planning
•    Ocean observation systems
•    Risk management
•    Visualization

Important Dates:
•    28 September 2012:  Call for abstracts and workshop proposals
•    30 November 2012:   Deadline for workshop proposals
•    5 January 2013:      Deadline for abstracts
