Mapping Across Borders, a Canadian Non-Profit Organization, and SONAMA Links, a Kenyan Natural Resource Management group, will be holding a five day mapping seminar in Kisumu from July 23 to July 27, 2012 at the Whirlsprings Hotel in Kisumu, Kenya. This seminar will teach GIS from the ground up and focus on its practical uses for NGOs and Civil Society groups; all are welcome to attend.
The training will include snacks and a lunch each day. Each participant is required bring their own computer for the training. At the completion of the training, each participant attending the full course will be given a certificate of attendance clearly showing topics covered.
The cost of the seminar is subject to the following rates:
- 33,000 KSH: Government and Private Consulting
- 25,000 KSH: Development organizations
- 16,500 KSH: Individuals (persons unemployed, researchers)

Referrals are encouraged:
For each referral registration, a participant may be eligible to deduct 2,00 KSH* from the course cost, to a maximum of 6,000 KSH (*One referral rate per organization. Other conditions apply).
